List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.
ELEMENT | PERFORMANCE CRITERIA |
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. |
1. Calculate costs and dimensions | 1.1 Additions, subtractions, multiplications and divisions of costs and dimensions are correctly calculated 1.2 Material and time costs are correctly calculated for elements of a job/brief 1.3 Percentages of cost and time are correctly calculated to fulfil requirements of a job/brief 1.4 Results of calculations are correctly recorded |
2. Calculate area, density and volume | 2.1 Density and/or volume of fluids and colours are correctly calculated and applied 2.2 Percentages of densities and volumes are correctly calculated to fulfil requirements of a job/brief |
3. Use basic measuring tools and apply results of measurement | 3.1 Appropriate measuring tools are selected and used correctly and accurately 3.2 Measurements are correctly interpreted and used in appropriate calculations |
Evidence of the ability to:
perform numerical calculations involving basic arithmetic, percentages and geometry to calculate costs, dimensions, weights, areas, density and volumes
complete activities using basic measuring tools used in the printing industry
document the results of calculations.
Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
explain how to perform quick approximations of expected answers
describe parallax errors and how they affect measurements
explain how acceptable tolerances in measurement are determined
list the measuring tools available in the workplace and briefly describe the function of each tool.
Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the Support field of work and include access to special purpose tools, equipment and materials.
Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.
